Hmmm, maybe. I’ve climbed a few walls (granted in “safe” Yosemite, not the Alps) but BASE jumping seems way more dangerous. Am I missing something? Because I’d love to do it someday if the risks can be mitigated!

i totally agree with you, theres much more dangers in multipitching than in basejumping. basejumping seems like a walk in the park after you’ve big wall climbed.

This kind of sport isn’t as dangerous as climbing multipitchroutes in the alps…the fatality rate in basejumping is very low compared to other kinds of sports

um no seriously Totalhigh is right, the fatality rate for climbers who go above a certain height ( 10,000 feet + i think it was )is extremely high and quite scary. Its like one in four or something equally bad, if one in four basejumpers died it would be carnage :(

Don’t participate in something you are not comfortable with. If you are comfortable, and have been trained thoroughly there is no reason not to do it. Just know how dangerous it is.
